Doors and crepes served from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Cinema-loving Francophiles unite! And gather at The State for our annual Bastille Day Bash and Petit Film Fest, an event inspired by an uprising in France 227 years ago. Unlike other commemorations of this banner day in Paris in 1789, there are no military parades or plans to re-enact the beheading of Marie Antoinette. Instead, our good friend David Bradford and his associate, Chef Maria Mora, will delight you with their crepe-making (in the French classical tradition) while you select your toppings (Nutella, Grand Marnier, caramel sauce, preserves and more) ~ all compliments of the house, of course! Music this year will be by the talented young harpist Brooke Cannedy whose repertoire includes French classical works and folk tunes, and works by Debussy and Ravel. Add back-to-back films -- and all for only $15 – and you’re bound to leave cheering Vive La France, and looking forward to Bastille Day at The State again next year! (Film titles to be announced soon!) Films begin at 1:30 p.m. Admission: $15 Contact : State Theatre Phone : BOX OFFICE (209) 527-4697 Email : Web Site : thestate.org
