Hailing from Eugene, Oregon, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies were formed in 1989 by singer Steve Perry, who still leads the band. Their music is primarily swing and ska, but there are plenty of rock, R&B, rockabilly, and pop influences, too. The band is touring in support of the reissue of their seminal album, “Zoot Suit Riot,” which was released 20 years ago and sold more than two million units. Their tenth and most recent album “The Boop-A-Doo,” a collection of 1920s and 1930s cover songs, was released last year. | |
