Forbidden Broadway debuted in 1982. Founded by an unemployed actor, Gerard Alessandrini, it is now New York’s longest-running musical comedy revue. The show has mercilessly parodied every beloved Broadway show for more than 30 years. Wicked? Check. Mary Poppins? You bet. Updated regularly, Forbidden Broadway has won Tony, Drama Desk, Obie and Outer Critics Circle awards. As long as Broadway exists, this show will be there, hilariously poking, prodding, teasing, pleasing, jeering and cheering, but always with love.
