Biomedical Accelerator Mass Spectrometry:
Improving Human Health One Atom at a Time
Toxicologist Michael Malfatti, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Toxicology, is a Senior Biomedical Scientist in the Biosciences and Biotechnology Divisionat LLNL.

This sensitive and precise method for detecting and quantifying rare, long‐lived isotopes allows for the use of low chemical and radioisotope doses and small sample size, making it a valuable tool for the biomedical sciences.

Plus: Medicine Man (PG-13~1992) Sean Connery stars as a research scientist who discovers a cure for cancer in the Brazilian rainforest but loses the formula. When a logging company begins to harvest the forest, he must race against time to rediscover the secret before it is gone forever.
