| Well recognized as one of New Zealand’s established songwriting stars, indie-folk singer songwriter MEL PARSONS’ star is on the rise. With a dynamite live show - solo, duo, or with her dynamic band, Parsons is an engaging performer with a natural emotive voice that allows the listener to become part of the story. With a wide breadth of material, Parsons has a dynamic songwriting range: from the gutsy & rhythmic hand-clappers like audience favorite ‘Far Away’ to pin-drop ballads like ‘Don’t Wait.’ She is a two-time NZ Music Award (VNZMA) finalist for Folk Album of the Year, and a winner of the 2016 APRA NZ Country Song of the Year.
