Modesto Walk for Apraxia

Apraxia Kids’ Walk For Apraxia®? is the official gathering to raise awareness for and to celebrate individuals with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Apraxia of speech is a severe neurological speech disorder that makes it difficult or impossible for a child to produce the sounds, syllables or words that are necessary for verbal communication to occur. Their brain knows what it wants to say but there is a disconnect between the brain and the muscles of the mouth, lips, tongue and jaw. Walk For Apraxia events raise funds for treatment and research. Modesto is one of about 80 events held in the US and Canada.
