Paul Thorn and his band thrilled a Gallo Center audience in each of the last two seasons, so much so that we’re bringing him back to perform at this year’s ROYAL FAMILY KIDS’ CAMP annual benefit concert. A couple of comments heard last year were “That show was a Paul Thorn love fest with the audience” and “That’s it, I’m officially a Thorniac!” You do NOT want to miss this show! With this blues-rock artist, the first thing you notice is the distinctively soulful and funky voice, the voice of a man who has walked a long, hot span over dusty country roads. Those who follow his career believe Thorn is one of the best ‘Americana’ songwriters and performers today—including such big fans as Bonnie Raitt, Kris Kristopherson, Mark Knopfler, Elvin Bishop and Huey Lewis. Thorn is now touring in support of his new album, "Too Blessed to be Stressed." Royal Family Kids’ Camp is a summer camp program for abused or abandoned children. A national organization, (www.rfkc.org) RFKC has served thousands of kids since its inception in the early 90s. We held our first camp for STANISLAUS COUNTY children in 2006 and have grown in each succeeding year. In June of 2014 we served 30 kids at our camp in the Sierras. We are a 100% volunteer staff and all of the funds we raise go towards providing a fun-filled week at camp for these children.
