Name: Positive People Speaker Series: Joanna Murillo-Bea
Date: March 8, 2018
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM PST
Event Description:
Joanna Murillo-Beaver, medical procedure specialist and licensed vocational nurse for Livingston Modesto City Schools, is the next presenter for Modesto Junior College’s Positive People Speaker Series. The free, public presentation is Thursday, March 8 at 6 p.m. in the Mary Stuart Rogers Student Learning Center on West Campus, 2201 Blue Gum Avenue, Modesto. Campus parking is available for $2.
Murillo-Beaver was the all-American girl in high school. She was a popular cheerleader with many friends, and was an outstanding student. Everything in life was on track and proceeding how she had planned. Then things took a traumatic turn following a night of fun and celebration, which ended with her in the hospital and then jail.

Murillo-Beaver will share her inspiring life story of how she overcame tragedy to achieve success and find happiness.

The speaker series, offered by the MJC Office of Campus Life and Student Learning, features local community members who have overcome challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. The community is invited to come hear these stories of inspiration and motivation.
The Positive People Speakers Series continues with these upcoming presentations:
March 22 – Yamilet Valladolid, clinic manager for Livingston Community Health
April 12 - Emmanuel Escamilla, Code X program founder.
