Adapted by Margarita Galban and Lina Montalvo from the short story by Gary Soto, “Too Many Tamales” is filled with music, laughter and fun. The story revolves around its central character, Maria, a little girl from a Hispanic family. It opens on Christmas Eve and the stage is filled with an angel-decorated Christmas tree, a Nativity scene, dolls, stuffed animals, a beautiful pinata...and a little red devil holding a pitchfork! This is a story of temptation that both children and adults can understand. It is about learning from one's mistakes and the special gift of forgiving. "Too Many Tamales" will be directed by Robin Bjerke. | |
