Date: January 15, 2017

Event Description:
Writers across America are banding together to speak to the ideals of democracy as a sort of “inauguration” of our post-election commitment to combating public cynicism, fighting disdain for truthfulness, and pushing back against hatred and bigotry.

On Sunday, January 15, 2017, poets and writers will share personal work, writings from the Constitution, and the work of diverse voices throughout history that address the ideals of democracy. Events are planned for New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, Oakland, Seattle, London, Hong Kong, and many other cities.
